This is an exciting opportunity to become an integral part of the BFBS Falkland Island’s broadcast support team. As part of a two-man team you will be involved in all aspects of maintaining the British Forces Broadcasting Service’s broadcast equipment and associated infrastructure. This includes radio studios, FM radio transmitters, digital television transmitters, VSAT communication systems, mast and building maintenance.

This is a unique and rare opportunity to work in the Falkland Islands supporting broadcast services for the British Forces and the Falkland Island civilian population.

You will gain experience of working across an unusually large range of broadcast disciplines and have the opportunity to lead and take responsibility for small projects and maintenance tasks.

We do not expect anybody to be an expert in everything that we do, but what we do require is a proven interest in broadcast systems, an ability to fault-find and diagnose problems, and a ‘can do’ positive attitude.

You must be a British citizen, resident in the UK for at least 2 of the last 10 years, have a full clean driving license and be prepared to under-go security vetting.

Due to the nature and location of this position, this is an unaccompanied posting. You will be required to undergo a full medical to ensure you are mentally and physically fit, due to the nature of the location, which has limited medical facilities.
