BBC News is looking for a visionary Digital News Editor to lead UK and global digital and social output. The executive editor will lead one of the most trusted and used news services into the future with the ambition of being more important and more useful to many different audiences.

Announcements in January 2020 to modernise and restructure BBC News recognised the monumental changes in media habits and the growth and potential of digital audiences . These imminent changes will grow the scope and profile of this role, the team and the work they are delivering.

Role Responsibility
As the Digital News Editor for BBC News, you will be part of the digital leadership team overseeing the strategic development of BBC News digital journalism, product and activity on third party platforms.

The role is responsible for the daily journalism across BBC News’ digital platforms and social media accounts. You will have both budget and line management responsibilities and will work closely with editors of TV and Radio output and specialist story teams ensuring the maximum impact and reach for BBC News journalism.

The Digital News Editor reports to Digital Director, Naja Nielsen, in the News Group Board.
