Desk News Organizer

The Desk News Organizer (DNO) is the main link between the technical, production and editorial functions in the newsroom, which ensures all video materials are recorded and delivered to the Newsroom as fast as possible.

The Desk News Organizer (DNO) has to demonstrate a strong understanding of the technological and production side of news broadcasting. The Desk News Organizer (DNO) liaises with crews and stringers on the ground from all over the world, instructs and communicates with them regarding times and means of material delivery and makes sure all the correct information is passed to all relevant newsroom functions.

This position is ideal for anyone who wants to start a career in journalism and/or TV news production.
Ruptly video news agency is operating 24/7. The Desk News Organizer must be willing and able to work any shift, including nights and weekends.

Your profile
  • Have strong communication and organisational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks;
  • Have a prior newsroom or production experience;
  • Have a solid interest in news and current events.
  • Is an enthusiastic reader of news from a wide range of sources;
  • Is a stress-tolerant multi-tasker;
  • Is willing to work on shifts (including weekends and nights);

Other qualifications
  • Social media savvy (e.g Tweetdeck, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok) and how to use them for newsgathering purposes;
  • Authorisation to work in Germany.

  • Professional competency in German;
  • Any additional languages would be considered an asset.
