The event was organized and produced by the City Council of Alcalá de Henares in Madrid, the birthplace of Cervantes. For this production, the Department of Culture placed its full trust in Tres Sistemas Comunicación to handle the live broadcast of this significant event. This iconic open-air play relied on a dynamic setup that augmented the immersive experience for the audience, bringing them closer to the action and creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

With no traditional fibre connections available, the live broadcast of this theatre piece turned into a fully IP-based production. The setup included TVU RPS One with 4 HD-SDI inputs, two TVU One mobile transmitters, and six fully autonomous cameras connected via the TVU backpacks. This innovative configuration enabled a seamlessly managed remote production from Tres Sistemas Comunicación’s central control room.

What could have been a highly complex production involving continuously moving cameras across four distinct stages was handled seamlessly by leveraging TVU’s state-of-the-art live streaming technology and Tres Sistemas’ production expertise. Synchronization was critical, and meticulous rehearsals were conducted to fine-tune signal alignment and minimize delay. Using TVU’s technology, the team ensured smooth, frame-accurate, and low-latency transmission despite the high-traffic environment and the complex nature of the event.

“As a theatre company, we initially underestimated the power of live streaming. However, this experience has changed our perspective. It’s remarkable to see how streaming can bring our performances to audiences far beyond the physical stage”, said David Ottone, co-founder of Yllana.

Over the past 33 years, Yllana has produced 38 theatrical shows, performed over 16,000 times in 48 countries, and seen by nearly 6 million spectators. This milestone production marks another step in Yllana’s ongoing commitment to innovation in the performing arts.

This milestone production highlights TVU Networks as the leading expert in live broadcasting, trusted globally for delivering seamless and memorable experiences across sports, news, and now live theater, setting a new benchmark for cultural event production.
