400 staff from MEDIAPRO Group involved in production of a La Liga Clásico

 Barcelona, Spain April 2021: The MEDIAPRO Group was once again in charge of the production and broadcast of the match-day signal of El Clásico between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, one of the most-watched TV sporting events in the world, played for the first time at the Alfredo Di Stéfano Stadium in Valdebebas.

In total a 400 strong team, 150 of them working from the studio, made the production of the match possible and despite not being able to be played in front of a crowd in the stadium as a consequence of the COVID-19 health measures in place, the match reached a potential audience of 600 million viewers in more than 180 countries with a customized production from the stadium for five international TV networks: Eleven Poland, Canal + Poland, D-Smart Turkey, TV2 Denmark and beIN MENA.

In addition, 30 cameras provided spectacular audiovisual coverage with an uninterrupted signal from two hours before the game until after the post-match press conferences, bringing fans around the world the most comprehensive package, without missing a single second of the action. Equipment highlights included two steady cams, a robot-controlled camera in the players’ tunnel, two pole cams, two mini-cameras behind the goals, a 25m high beauty cam set up on a crane and two ultra-high-speed cameras.

New features for this season included: the drone, which saw aerial images from more than a height of 120 meters as well as a parachute feature and film-quality images and capable of focusing on the main shot with the rest fading out, creating a movie-feel to the images. For El Clásico, the MEDIAPRO Group used two cameras simultaneously for the first time.
