ACTAMEDYA expands its UHD production, covering two soccer matches in a week
Istanbul, November 2016: The broadcast services company, ACTAMEDYA, is increasing its Ultra HD coverage of international soccer. It recently produced in the same week the transmission of two major games in the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.
With co-operation from TRT4K and BEKO, ACTAMEDYA organised the technical production of the games between Beşiktaş v Napoli and Fenerbahçe v Manchester United.
The matches were broadcast using eight Ultra HD cameras, Ultra HD lenses and an HEVC H265 encoding system. The productions - hosted by TRT4K and also broadcast on the Digiturk platform - were followed closely by technology producers, broadcaster unions and viewers.
In both transmissions, PIKO 4 Encoders and modulators produced by Kizil Electronics in Turkey were used and the results were complimented by the broadcasters.
ACTAMEDYA has now produced coverage in Ultra HD for seven soccer games in Turkey. It has also produced the world’s first videoconference from five locations.
