Adtec Digital debuts cost-effective multi-codec encoder modulator

Nashville, Tennessee (September 24, 2013)Adtec Digital, the leading provider of contribution, distribution and compression solutions, today introduced the EN-30, a two-channel multi-CODEC High and Standard definition contribution and distribution encoder supporting ATSC, DVB, ISDB-T and ISDB-Tb via ASI, IP or QAM platforms.

The EN-30 inherits Adtec’s broadcast-quality compression, advanced feature set, service performance and reliability in a new, dense, two-channel platform targeted to high value applications. The lightweight and cost effective EN-30 offers numerous features and specifications in its 1 RU chassis, including redundant AC power supplies, enhanced control and monitoring via its front-panel, a browser-based interface and SNMP. The EN-30 offers versatile video support of standard definition and high definition MPEG 2 and AVC content. It can support two MPEG 2 channels, and one MPEG 2 and one AVC channel, or two AVC channels of output.

The EN-30 boasts eight channels of phase-aligned audio per video service, robust VBI support, reliability and ease of use. In addition to encoding phase aligned MPEG 1 audio, the EN-30 adds support for Dolby Digital Plus, ACC-LC and HE-AAC (v1 and v2) mixed mode audio encoding supporting stereo (2.0) and multi-channel surround (5.1) modes.

The EN-30 encodes and concurrently transports services via ASI, IP and DVBS/S2. The DVBS/S2 modulator is available in IF or L-band with modulation modes ranging from QPSK up to 32APSK 5% rolloff based on software licenses.
