6. Soundbite (English) - Jose Manuel Barroso, Head of European Commission: "Today, there is a great awareness of the needs to think European and to act globally. That was not the case in 2000, when the first strategy was launched, but there are also other differences. At that time the strategy was for some targets mostly macroeconomic matters. This time we have made it holistic, by this I mean comprehensive strategy that links macroeconomic reforms with macroeconomic stability and also other aspects like deepening of the external market and also external dimension".

8. Soundbite (English) - Jose Manuel Barroso, Head of European Commission: "Two years ago if we said that there will be a European system of supervisory mechanism, people would say it is not possible. Member states will not accept it. And now it was accepted, why? Because the crisis has shown the need to act. It was Albert Einstein who said once "a crisis can be a blessing, because it is a great incentive for change". This is what is inducing Europe for change. This crisis is showing us the need for reform, that's why I am so confident about the European 2020 strategy".

Therefore, we would highly contribute to the deepening of integration, the common European foreign policy, external contact with the world outside the EU, so that our solidarity can be seen, but also our unanimity, or at least attempt to find what unites all countries of the European Union in contact with the outside world ".

Wroclaw. The movie "80 millions" about the Solidarity trade union is being shot on the Wroclaw streets. The story is based on real events that took place 10 days before the martial law. Three young members of the Lower Silesia Solidarity took 80 million zloty from the trade union's bank account. They did it at the last moment, since on 13 December 1981 the account was blocked by the authorities. The money was hidden by Henryk Gulbinowicz, then Archbishop of Wrocław. It helped in building Wroclaw underground structures during the martial law.
