Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt has called for a mass demonstration in Cairo’s Tahrir Square on Friday April 13 to ‘protect the spirit of the revolution’. Muslim Brotherhood Secretary General Mahmoud Hussein has called for the "million-man march" to protest against what he described as an effort by former regime officials to reclaim power.

The call comes as a response to former Vice President and Spy Chief, Omar Suleiman’s announcement that he was entering the country's presidential race, stating that he could not refuse "the people's will".

The presidential election, due to start on May 23, will be the first since Mubarak's overthrow in February 2011 after nearly 30 years in power.
