Monaco - July 1 and 2, 2011

Prince Albert of Monaco will tie the knot with South African Olympic swimmer Charlene Wittstock in July 2011. The couple will hold a civil ceremony on July 1st followed by a religious marriage on July 2nd.

Prince Albert II met Charlene during a 2000 swimming competition in Monaco.

It will be the first marriage of a reigning Prince since Hollywood actress Grace Kelly married in 1956 Albert's father Prince Rainier III.

Eurovision Special Events will offer production and transmission facilities in Monaco, including:

Standup positions for live programme inserts
Tape playout (multi-format)
Connectivity to the Eurovision Global Network

The Eurovision feedpoint will be located at the host TV compound, on the Sea Wall of the "Port Hercules" in Monaco.

The standup positions will offer a view of the Marina and Monaco and will be equipped with monitors with the host signal of the marriage of Prince Albert of Monaco and Charlene Wittstock.

Prince Albert of Monaco will marry Charlene Wittstock, a former South African Olympic swimmer on July 1-2.

The union will give the wealthy Mediterranean principality its first crown princess since American Grace Kelly.

The civil marriage ceremony of H.S.H. Prince Albert II and Miss Charlene Wittstock will take place on July 1st, in the Throne Room of the Prince's Palace.

The religious marriage ceremony will take place on July 2, in the Main Courtyard of the Palace. 3,500 guests are expected to attend on the Palace Square.

Prince Albert met Charlene Wittstock in 2000 when she traveled to Monaco for a swimming competition. Wittstock swam for South Africa at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.
