The 17th Anniversary of the terrorist attacks on 11 September 2001 is to be marked. Almost 3,000 people were killed during the 9/11 terrorist attacks, majority of whom were civilians. The US President,Donald Trump, is expected to observe a moment of silence in the White House.

September 11th will mark the 17th anniversary of the terrorist attack on America.
The observance will take place at the National September 11 Memorial Plaza, located in the World Trade Center site in lower Manhattan.
The private anniversary ceremony will be held on the plaza in the morning, a tribute that has centered on reading of the names of the people killed in New York, at the Pentagon and near Shanksville, Pennsylvania, in the 2001 attacks.
