Legislative elections have given the victory to Sebastian Kurz's Austrian People’s party (ÖVP), followed by the far-right Freedom party (FPÖ) and the currently rulling centre-left SPÖ.

31-year-old Kurz, who will become the next chancellor, will have to choose whether he continues the “grand coalition” of the past decade under his leadership or he sets an alliance with the nationalist FPÖ.
