Pope Francis will be holding a June 28 Consistory to create 5 new cardinals from different parts of the world manifests the catholicity of the Church, spread throughout the earth.

The five new cardinals appointed by Pope Francis are:
Archbishop Jean Zerbo, of Bamako, Mali;
Archbishop Juan José Omella of Barcelona, Spain;
Bishop Anders Arborelius of Stockholm, Sweden;
Bishop José Gregorio Rosa Chávez, auxiliary bishop of San Salvador, El Salvador
Bishop Louis-Marie Ling Mangkhanekhoun, Apostolic Vicar of Pakse, Laos.

PAPAL CONSISTORY TO CREATE NEW CARDINALS
ROME, ITALY
28 JUNE 2017

Pope Francis will elevate five Roman Catholic prelates to the high rank of cardinal in a ceremony on June 28.

Pope Francis once again widened the number of countries represented in the College of Cardinals, the elite group of churchmen who are his closest advisors and can enter a conclave to choose his successor if they are under 80. The pope said the men came from Mali, Spain, Sweden, Laos and El Salvador.

Eurovison Special Events, in cooperation with MH Eurovision Roma, is offering comprehensive production and transmission facilities from its permanent bureau in Via della Conciliazione 44, just a few steps from St. Peter's Square.
