LONDON FINSBURY PARK ATTACK

One man has died and at least eight people have been injured after a van mounted the pavement and struck a group of pedestrians near a north London mosque.

The suspected terror attack happened just after midnight near Finsbury Park Mosque in Seven Sisters Road. The driver of the van, a 48-year old man, has been arrested.

Scotland Yard said armed police were at the scene, with the investigation being carried out by Counter Terrorism Command. Extra officers had been deployed to the area to reassure Muslims during Ramadan.
