British Prime Minister Theresa May is expected to trigger Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty 29th March, formally signalling the UK's intention to leave the European Union.
The move will fire the starting gun on two years of high-stakes divorce negotiations with the EU that could pave the way for the United Kingdom to leave the bloc in 2019.

British Prime Minister Theresa May will trigger Article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, the formal notification of the United Kingdom's intention to leave the European Union, on March 29, a spokesman for the British leader said on Monday, March 20.
The United Kingdom has informed European Council President Donald Tusk's office of May's intention, the spokesman said.
Once this has happened, Britain will begin a two-year period of exit negotiations with the EU.
