Chancellor Angela Merkel on Monday postponed her trip to Washington for her first face-to-face meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump due to the late-winter storm expected on the U.S. east coast.

Merkel had been scheduled to arrive late Monday night for meetings with Trump on Tuesday but called off the trip at the last minute due to the weather, her office said. The White House said the meeting was rescheduled for Friday.

The meeting will be the first between the two leaders. Their itinerary is set to include discussions on NATO, the Islamic State group and Ukraine's conflict, all matters that require close cooperation between the U.S. and Germany, as well as a joint press conference.

The Associated Press will provide live facilities in Washington DC from the following permanent live standup locations:

• WHITE HOUSE NORTH LAWN – Secret Service clearance required. AP can assist
• ROOF OVERLOOKING WHITE HOUSE - No credentials needed
• AP WASHINGTON BUREAU – multicamera studio, chromakey studios, workspace with access to pool and AP video. No credentials needed

MERKEL VISIT TO WHITE HOUSE
WASHINGTON, DC
MARCH 17, 2017

The German Chancellor Angela Merkel will meet US President Donald Trump at the White House on March 17th.

Disagreements over policy are certain. Merkel is a strong believer in multilateral trade agreements while Trump has adopted a protectionist stance. Trump has described Merkel's generous policy towards refugees as "insane" and is attempting to ban all refugees from entering the US for 120 days.

Merkel is also likely to express general concern in Europe over the Trump administration's stance on NATO, Russia and climate change.

EUROVISION Americas will provide the following facilities for live reporting on the Merkel visit:

Live stand-up positions on the White House north lawn.
These are subject to security clearance.

Live stand-up positions at Mobile Video with a rooftop view of the White House.
