15.01.2017France: Middle East peace conference in Paris *** ARCHIVE

15 JANUARY 2017

France will convene some 70 countries on January 15 for a Middle East peace conference in Paris and will invite the Israeli and Palestinian leaders to meet separately for unilateral discussions at its conclusion.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas have both been invited to the conference in an effort to see whether the two sides could be brought back to the negotiating table and to revive stagnating peace talks.

France has repeatedly tried to inject a new sense of life into the peace process holding a preliminary conference in June where the United Nations, European Union, United States and major Arab countries gathered to discuss proposals without the Israelis or Palestinians present.

EUROVISION Special Events will offer the following facilities onsite:

• HD/SD Standup position for Live programme inserts
• HD/SD Playout
• Connectivity to the Eurovision Global Network
