FUNERAL OF SHIMON PERES

World leaders are gathering in Israel to pay tribute to Shimon Peres, one of the country's founding fathers.

Former Israeli Prime Minister and President Shimon Peres died early on Wednesday morning, aged 93. During a political career spanning seven decades, Peres served twice as prime minister of Israel and later as the country’s ninth president. He won the Nobel Peace prize in 1994 for being one of the key architects of the Oslo peace accords, reaching an interim peace agreement with the Palestinians.
