German Chancellor Angela Merkel is to break her summer vacation to return to Berlin on Thursday to hold her annual press conference in the wake of a series of deadly attacks in the nation, her press office says.

Merkel, who is at present at her holiday home in Uckermark, is expected to hold press conference on current domestic and foreign policy issues, her press office says.
