IRELAND: GENERAL ELECTIONS DUBLIN, IRELAND 26 FEBRUARY 2016 Irish Prime Minister Enda Kenny has called for a general election to take place on 26 February 2016, Friday. Following a courtesy announcement in the Dáil chamber at 9:30am, on 03 February 2016 at 10:35am (local), the Dáil Éireann was officially dissolved when the proclamation was signed by President Michael D Higgins and Taoiseach Enda Kenny, at Áras an Uachtaráin. Mr Kenny told the House that that the 32nd Dáil would resume on 10 March 2016, Thursday at 10.30am local.
