The 88th Academy Awards ceremony will honor the best English-language films of 2015 and will take place on February 28, 2016, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California. The Revenant received the most nominations with twelve total, with Mad Max: Fury Road coming in second with ten. Actor and comedian Chris Rock would be hosting the event.

The 88th Academy Awards® ceremony, also known as the Oscars, will take place in Los Angeles, California, on February 28th. The Revenant, featuring actor Leonardo DiCaprio and directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, led the Oscars nominations with 12 nods, including Best Picture, Director, Actor and Supporting Actor. In the foreign language category, "Son of Saul" from Hungary, "Mustang" from France, "A War" from Denmark, "Embrace of the Serpent" from Colombia and "Theeb" from Jordan were the nominees.
