Blatter has been provisionally suspended after Swiss authorities opened legal proceedings against him on 25th September for criminal mismanagement and misappropriation. Among other things, the investigations highlight "a disloyal payment" to the value of two million Swiss francs (around two million euros based on the current exchange rate) to UEFA president Michel Platini which was "detrimental to FIFA".
