The XIV Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops will take place from October 4-25 and focus on the theme of the vocation and mission of the family in the Church and in the contemporary world.

Bishops from around the world will convene at the Vatican to continue the work of the III Extraordinary General Assembly by reflecting on the points discussed so as to formulate appropriate pastoral guidelines for the pastoral care of the person and the family (Instrumentum Laboris, III Extraordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops).

October 3: Prayer vigil in St. Peter's Square in preparation for the 14th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops.

October 4: Holy Mass for the opening of the 14th General Ordinary Assembly of the Synod of Bishops in the Vatican Basilica.

October 25: Holy Mass for the conclusion of the 14th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops in the Vatican Basilica.
