China commemorates the 70th Anniversary of the second Sino-Japanese War in 1945, considered to be the biggest war in Asia of the 20th Century.

For the event China invited the militaries of other countries to participate in a parade in Beijing on September 3. It will be China’s first parade with foreign troops and domestic model troops gathering in Tiananmen Square.

Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Communist Party of China, the President of the People's Republic of China, and the Chairman of the Central Military Commission, will attend the event and deliver a speech.

At the event, Xi will award medals to veterans and generals who participated in the war, referred to by China as "the Chinese people’s war of resistance against Japanese aggression", including relatives of the deceased.
