Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina, 11 July 2015

Heads of State past and present are to join remembrance ceremonies to mark the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacres. Commemoration events will be held on Saturday 11th of July 2015.

For the first time Serbia's Prime minister Aleksandr Vucic has confirmed his attendance in Srebrenica. The move is widely reported as a willingness to improve ties with Bosnia,

Remembrance events are being held just days after Russia vetoed a UN resolution to describe the massacres as genocide.

More than 8,000 Muslim men and boys were killed by Bosnian Serb forces when they overran the United Nations' 'safe haven' of Srebrenica in July 1995, the worst mass killing in Europe since World War II.
