The next European Council Summit will take place at the Justus Lipsius building on Thursday 19 and Friday 20 March 2015. It will be chaired by the President of the European Council, Mr. Donald Tusk

EU leaders are expected to discuss:

further orientations in view of building an Energy Union
relations with Russia and the situation in Ukraine
preparations of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga

The European Council will also conclude the first phase of the 2015 European Semester.

Heads of state or government of the 28 EU member states, the European Council President and the President of the European Commission, will meet in Brussels. They will set further orientations in view of building an Energy Union.

The European Council will revert to relations with Russia and the situation in Ukraine further to its December meeting and the informal meeting on 12 February and agree on further steps.

It will provide a steer in view of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga.

The European Council will also conclude the first phase of the 2015 European Semester.
