A presidential election is scheduled to be held in Tunisia on 23 November 2014, a month after the parliamentary election. A second round of voting will take place on 28 December, if needed. Tunisia is back to the ballot box on 23 November to vote for their next President. As the birthplace of the Arab Spring pro-democracy demonstrations that swept the region, voting in Tunisia is being closely watched.
Incumbent president Moncef Marzouki announced on 20 September 2014 that he would run for re-election as well as 26 other candidates out of the 70 who applied .
