The Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko is to meet with US President Barack Obama in the White House on September 18th. According to an official statement on the White House website, both Presidents will discuss the crisis in eastern Ukraine.

Washington, DC, 18 September 2014

President Petro Poroshenko of Ukraine will be at the White House on Thursday September 18th for a meeting with President Obama.

The White House stated that the US President would discuss with President Poroshenko a possible diplomatic resolution to the crisis in eastern Ukraine as well as the United States' continued support for Ukraine over its sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The meeting follows the brokering of a ceasefire between Russian-backed rebels and Ukrainian forces in the east of the country.

Eurovision Americas will offer fully coordinated live stand-up positions on the White House lawn for correspondents wishing to cover this visit.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eurovision's White House lawn positions are open only to correspondents with a US social security number, or to correspondents travelling with President Poroshenko who have obtained clearance in advance of the trip. US-based correspondents must contact Eurovision Washington a day in advance so that their application for access can be submitted to the White House.

Studios with live chromakey of the White House are available at Eurovision Washington at usual rates. Workspace and playout facilities are also available at Eurovision Washington.
