President of Germany Joachim Gauck will take part in the ceremonies commemorating the 75th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II along with his Polish counterpart Bronislaw Komorowski. The main ceremonies will be held in Gdansk on September 1st.

Official programme of the commemorations:
15:00 GMT – Lightning candles by both presidents at the cemetery on Westerplatte
15:10 GMT – beginning of the main ceremonies – possible statements of both presidents on Westerplatte
16:00 GMT - laying wreath at the Monument to the Defenders of Westerplatte
16:20 GMT – both presidents to take part in the debate with the youth from Poland and Germany
