Gioia Tauro Port, Italy – July 2nd

Italy will host the operations of the Syrian chemical weapons in the harbour of Gioia Tauro, Calabria. After the transfer from the Danish vessel Ark Futura is completed, the U.S. motor vessel Cape Ray will depart for international waters to begin neutralization of the chemical agents. Italy agreed months ago to allow the use of a port on its territory for the transit of the toxins used in making sarin, VX gas and other lethal agents.
