RIO 2016 OLYMPIC GAMES

The 2016 Summer Olympics, officially known as the Games of the XXXI Olympiad, will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016.

Rio de Janeiro will become the first South American city to host the Summer Olympics and the preparations have not been without controversy with the Zika virus, an ongoing finacial crisis, concerns over Rio's Olympic infrastructure and the impact of rampant government corruption.

More than 10,500 athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) will attend, including first time entrants Kosovo and South Sudan.

The games will feature a total of 28 Olympic sports including rugby sevens and golf, which were added by the International Olympic Committee.

EUROVISION Special Events will offer the following facilities in Rio de Janeiro, available to both non-rights holders and rights holders:

1) COPACABANA:
Situated on the Avenida Atlantica, which runs behind the Copacabana beach, this location offers a breathtaking view towards the Forte de Copacabana. The feedpoint is directly across from the Olympic Beach Volleyball venue and, being in the centre of the tourist area, it is also perfectly placed to pick up reactions from people visiting Rio for the games.
