Mauritania signs new transponder lease with Arabsat

His Excellency the Mauritania Minister of Communication and Relations with the Parliament Mr.Hamdi Ould Mahgoub visited the headquarters of the Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat) during his visit to Saudi Arabia, to discuss and promote aspects of joint cooperation.

This meeting was culminated with the signature of a new transponder lease contract on Arabsat satellite Badr-5 to broadcast the new Mauritanian television bouquet from the digital broadcasting platform, which will be build by Arabsat in Nouakchott.

His Excellency the Mauritania Minister of Communication and Relations with the Parliament stated that this agreement is a continuation of the unique relationship between Arab Satellite Communications Organization (Arabsat) and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania with the beginning of audio-visual space liberation, which we consider an important experience in our Media history in order to provide more freedom in this area. Here, I note the leading role that Arabsat has been doing in order to keep pace with technological development witnessed by the world in this field.

We are really honored that Arabsat embodies the success of the joint Arab cooperation, and we are willing to push forward this cooperation.
